From Embodied Memory to Collective Imagination
the futures we can imagine are shaped by the memories we embody and the stories we share
Overview
This project explores the relationship between memory, imagination, and sustainability. It investigates how embodied experiences, personal memories, and collective exchanges can become resources for imagining alternatives that extend beyond familiar assumptions about society, nature, and everyday life.
Through workshops based on body mapping, storytelling, and collective imagination, participants are invited to revisit meaningful experiences, uncover hidden influences on their thinking, and collaboratively envision alternative possibilities for more sustainable ways of living. The project understands imagination not as the creation of something entirely new, but as a process of recombining experiences, memories, relationships, and values into new configurations and possibilities.
Bringing together participants across Brazil and Canada, the project examines how embodied memory can support collective imagination and the emergence of new sustainability imaginaries.
